The FECU invites everyone to celebrate International Credit Union Day® (ICU Day). On October 16, 2025, credit union members around the world will celebrate International Credit Union Day, an annual event to commemorate the credit union movement’s impact and achievements. This year marks the 77th anniversary of this annual event, which will be celebrated under the theme of “Cooperation for a Prosperous World”.

History

Since 1948, International Credit Union Day® has been celebrated annually on the third Thursday of October. Each year, the international event affords the opportunity to remember credit unions’ proud history and promote awareness of and support for the credit union and financial cooperative difference.

Cooperation for a Prosperous World

Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives that exist to serve their members, not to make a profit. More than 74,000 credit unions across the globe help people achieve more prosperity by offering cooperative finance and supporting their communities.

Social Media

Follow FECU on social media for more ways to participate! Credit unions will share their activities with the global community on social media using #ICUDay2025.
