FECU has great tools and features to help you safely use the Federated Employees Credit Union VISA® credit card and our VISA® debit card wherever you go. Adopting smart habits and taking advantage of resources available is a great way to prevent fraud while traveling.
Confirm your information is updated
Make certain the phone number you have on file with FECU is current so you can be easily contacted if any questionable activity is detected on your account. FECU and VISA will never ask you for personal or account information when we contact you. We will only ask you to verify transactions. Return the call as soon as possible if you are contacted about fraud on your account.
Travel notices are a great way to protect yourself
Ensure uninterrupted service by keeping FECU updated with your travel plans before you leave. You can send your travel information using the Contact Us link on our webpage or by calling 507-455-5430 Monday - Friday between 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM CT.
Regularly monitor your statements for any unauthorized activity (and go paperless)
Use FECU’s Online Banking to view your account activity, debit card transactions, and sign up for eStatements.

Our VISA debit card may be used to access your FECU checking account balances. You can also use it to withdraw money, check your account balance, and more, from an ATM near you.
Whenever possible, use “credit” option at the cash register. Signature-based purchases reduce your risk of identity theft — and they earn you points! Avoid problems by using an ATM in a good location. Free ATM transactions are available at all CO-OP Financial Services Network and Allpoint Network ATMs nationwide. Always be aware of your surroundings and don’t let anyone see your PIN.
Note: Members are allowed 15 PIN transactions per month, there is a $1 fee per transaction over the limit. Your PIN is private; never give it out.
Freeze your FECU Debit Card in Online Banking
Log in to your online banking and click Self Service to change a card's status between Active and Frozen. Once it is frozen cards will not approve new incoming transaction requests. Pre-authorized transactions and recurring bills may still complete.
VISA Credit Cards
The Federated Employees Credit Union credit has no annual fees. Enjoy an easy and secure way to pay on the go because Visa is accepted at millions of merchant locations around the world for everyday purchases.
VISA Purchase Alerts
Keep tabs on your account anytime, anywhere. Near real-time purchase alerts by VISA® via text or e-mail help you reduce fraud and monitor spending. If there is fraudulent activity on your account, you can act quickly. The service is available free for FECU VISA® credit cardholders.
Shop Online Securely
Go to Verified by Visa® to set up a secure password for using your FECU VISA credit card for online purchases. Whenever you shop online at an authorized store, you will be prompted to enter your password for verification.
